Plant partnership: Your Birthday Gift to
the Earth
Birthday
celebration has become the part of life. It is in fact the social custom of
our society. The way it was celebrated in the past and now is drastically
changed. In the past, one who celebrated his/ her birthday would receive
red-coloured tika from his/her parents
and go to temple to worship for their well being. But with the passage of
time and development of science and technology, the society has been
intermingled; and the way of celebrating birthday is highly influenced by the
western culture. People get attracted towards it. People spend a lot in the
name of birthday celebration. They book the hotels or restaurants; invite
their besties; sing and dance taking drinks. They don’t hesitate to spend any
amount of money they have. In this context, the time has come to celebrate
our birthday being environment friendly. That is to say instead of spending
huge amount of money for it, let’s donate some plants to the mother Earth as
birthday gifts and make it evergreen. This will bring a kind of emotional
attachment of people with the trees. Hence it proves to be an effective way
of environment conservation.
